Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino spoke glowingly about his players after the win over Brighton. He also spoke about the possibility of the Premier League being played without VAR next season.

Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino expressed his happiness after his team's victory over Brighton to maintain its dreams in the Europa League.

Brighton hosted the Blues at the Amex Stadium and despite their chances, were unable to do the damage as they were beaten 2-1 by Pochettino's side.


Chelsea are now one win away from a Europa League qualification spot after beating Brighton 2-1.

Pochettino talks about the win over Brighton

The Chelsea coach was in high spirits in the post-match press conference. He praised his players and stressed that their project, which is now beginning to bear fruit, requires patience.

He told the BBC: “The approach we take in the match, against a team that is playing well like Brighton, is a huge credit to our players.”

“I am very happy and the three points put us in a very good position in the table to attack in the last match against Bournemouth for the possibility of being in Europe. Brighton is a very good team and it is always difficult to play here.”

Pochettino talks about VAR technology

The Argentine manager has been one of the most vocal opponents of the technology. Earlier this evening, it was revealed that Premier League clubs will put the issue of keeping VAR in next season to a vote, Pulse Sports reported.

When asked about this development, the 52-year-old kept his cards close to his chest, saying it was not his decision.

“It's not my decision. We live in an age of technology and for me it's not about yes or no about VAR, it's about improving how we use it.”
