Next week, it will be determined whether or not Xavi Hernandez will be sacked as Barcelona coach, a month after he committed his future to the club for another season. A meeting will be held between Joan Laporta and Deco to discuss the matter, and then some clarity will be shared.

If Xavi is fired, Barcelona hopes to give up the final year of his contract. According to La Vanguardia, a total of €15m will be paid if the 44-year-old is sacked, but half of that sum will not need to be paid if Xavi agrees not to take the remainder of his salary, as is the case with Xavi. He accepted it in January when he announced his decision to step down at the end of the season.
Laporta is counting on Xavi's “love for the club” which means he will not take the money, although given how this situation develops, he will have every right to take everything he owes to Barcelona.
