Real Madrid to postpone decision on future of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric – report

Real Madrid have to make some difficult decisions this summer, with the contracts of four veteran players expiring this summer. Lucas Vazquez looks set to stay at the club, Nacho Ferrandiz is expected to leave, and the statuses of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric remain uncertain.

Although various other sources have announced that decisions will be made this week with the relentless German and Croatian maestro, Marca say the decision will not be made for several more weeks. Talks with Kroos and Modric will take place after the Champions League final according to their information, and it is very unlikely that a decision on their futures will be made before then either way.

It is understood that Los Blancos will not want to be distracted from the task at hand in the Champions League final, but it does not leave much time to make a decision either. They will both travel to the European Championships with their respective teams shortly after the final, and the celebrations will no doubt continue for at least 48 hours too. Other reports say Modric is unlikely to stay, with Real Madrid feeling it is time for the 38-year-old to hand over power.
