Predicted XIs Manchester City-Real Madrid: Will ‘the Anti-Vinicius’ start Champions League crunch tie?

Manchester City hosts Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, all at the Etihad Stadium, after a 3-3 draw last week. City have some important players back for this encounter, which could be the main difference between the first leg and the final.

Star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne pulled out of the first leg at the last minute due to illness, while Kyle Walker, dubbed 'Ante Vinicius' by the Spanish media last season, is also fit to play this time around. Pep Guardiola confirmed he had been in “good form” in the last few training sessions but was unsure whether to start him or put him on the bench.

Marca believes that Manuel Akanji will continue at right-back, with De Bruyne returning in place of Mateo Kovacic in midfield from the first leg. Goalkeeper Ederson also returned from injury, and will play opposite Stefan Ortega.

Meanwhile, Diario AS feel Walker will start the game, but otherwise agree on City's line-up. There is no difference between either of them in terms of Real Madrid's lineup, although the latter sees Jude Bellingham start more on the left side for Los Blancos.

Odds of Manchester City and Real Madrid qualifying for the Champions League.

There was some speculation after Aurelien Chouamini's suspension that Eder Militao might return for Real Madrid in the second leg. However, in only his second appearance since recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him for seven months, Militao played just a few minutes against Real Mallorca over the weekend, with many ensuring Nacho Fernandez would start the match on Wednesday evening.

Chouamini joined the injured Thibaut Courtois and David Alaba as the only absentees from the two teams.
