NASCAR has fined Ricky Stenhouse Jr. $75,000 for his fight with Kyle Busch in Sunday's $1 million All-Star race.
While winner Joey Logano was celebrating, Stenhouse and Busch were involved in an altercation between their pickup trucks following a second-lap incident in which Busch flipped Stenhouse's No. 47 into the wall and exited the race.
Enraged, Stenhouse stopped in Busch's No. 8 pit area and then waited for the two-time champion after the race, punching Busch before a brawl broke out after the discussion.
Members of the media were involved in the incident, as were team members from the No. 8 and No. 47 crews, and Stenhouse even threatened to destroy Busch in this weekend's Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte.
That received short shrift from both Busch and owner Richard Childress, with NASCAR now stepping in after the fight.
Stenhouse received a $75,000 fine, in addition to penalties for his team members.
His father, Richard Stenhouse Sr., was suspended indefinitely with mechanic Clint Merrick receiving an eight-race suspension.
Engine tuner Keith Matthews will also be benched for four races, but there are no penalties for Busch or anyone on his team.
