Barcelona dressing room unsettled by Joan Laporta moves – Deco in contact with agents

Barcelona's plans for this summer, next season and next week remain uncertain, as Xavi Hernandez's future appears to loom large once again. If that's not the case already, it's starting to impact the locker room.

With reports that president Joan Laporta has decided to leave Xavi if they are able to do so, the pair will meet next week in order to determine his future. According to Sport, Barcelona are becoming increasingly uneasy due to the situation, and are starting to worry about their future.

Many players who thought they would stay at the club next summer are no longer sure of their situation, and others who thought they might leave are interested to know if that is the case. Sporting director Deco has reached out to players' agents in order to reassure them about Barcelona's plans, but it is understood that many are keen to get the manager's blessing, which is impossible at this stage if Xavi's position is uncertain.

It is no surprise that Barcelona's pendulum-style planning is starting to unbalance things at the club. After five months of little certainty one way or the other, and seemingly no clear succession plan, it will come as no surprise that senior players are increasingly skeptical about joining the club. Many players, such as Rafinha, Ronald Araujo, Oriol Romeu, Inigo Martinez and Vitor Roque, have witnessed their plans change, or promises not be fulfilled within 12 months to two years.
