Carlos Sainz jumped to the top of the timesheets on the second day of pre-season testing with a healthy gap over the competition.
The Ferrari driver’s best time was set on the C4 compound which placed him over seven-tenths of a second ahead of Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, who handled driving duties for the Milton Keynes-based squad.
However, it wasn’t a smooth outing for Perez despite his high lap count as Red Bull ran into a handful of issues during the day.
As well as Red Bull’s woes, there were a number talking points from the day, several of which were discussed after the chequered flag by RacingNews365 F1 writer Nick Golding and lead editor Ian Parkes, who was present in the paddock.
