Valencia plans delicately balanced as replacement lined up for star exit

Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is one of the candidates to become Los Che's annual sale of one of their best young players this summer, with the latest links to the Premier League. But replacing it is not an easy task.

According to Relevo, Valencia have a verbal agreement with Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper Stoli Dimitrievski, whose contract will expire at the end of the season. The Macedonian has two good offers from Saudi Arabia, but will prioritize a move to the Mestalla.

However, Valencia have no plans to acquire two quality goalkeepers next season, and will only do a deal for Dimitrievskiy if Mamardashvili is sold. A quick sale is therefore required within the next couple of months in order to retain Dimitrievskiy as a replacement, but there is little sign of an imminent bid for Mamardashvili. The 30-year-old will prioritize Valencia, but he will not wait forever and will consider other options if he does not sign by the end of his contract in June.

Mamardashvili's most recent links have been with Newcastle United, and a fee of around €25-35m is believed to be enough to snatch up the Georgian giants. Nick Pope is no slouch in goal either. Dimitrievskiy is not on the same level as Mamardashvili, but he represents a solid and cheap alternative to Los Che.
