Tobi Amusan: 3 things Nigerian track queen loves about Jamaica

World record holder Tobi Amusan mentioned the three things she loves about Jamaica.

Nigerian track legend Tobi Amusan has revealed her love for her coach's country after competing in the Jamaica Athletics Championships.

The world record holder (WR) produced one of the standout performances of the meet by winning the women's 100mH in a world-impressive time of 12.40 seconds, thus defeating home girl and reigning world champion Danielle Williams.

What's even more interesting is that she won the race from a poor start and recovered in time to outpace her peers, giving vibes that she might have been in WR form a couple of years ago.

“We have work to do and given the way I performed today, it could have been better but I am just grateful,” Amusan said in a post-race interview with Sportsmaxtv.

When asked if her win was compensation for the disappointment of being disqualified for a false start in her last race at the Suzhou Diamond League, the former world champion said it was just another lesson she had learned.

“I wouldn't call it redemption, there's always a lesson from every race, you don't want to lose. It was a confidence boost for me. I didn't get the points, I didn't get the time.” “I didn't win, but knowing that I crossed the finish line first, I knew mentally that I was in my space.”

Amosan also revealed her love for Jamaica, saying she is ready to get their passport.
