“The team has not helped him” – Barcelona panned over treatment of Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski has been subject to significant speculation regarding his future over the past few months, but for now at least, he has no plans to leave Barcelona during the summer. For his national team manager, this is not necessarily good news.

Michal Proppers, who took over as Poland coach last September, criticized Barcelona during an interview with TVP Sport (via Sport) over their treatment of the 35-year-old striker.

“Robert is Barcelona's top scorer, and it must be said that the team did not help him. He is often in a good position to shoot, but the ball never reaches him. In the last match (against Rayo Vallecano), when he received the cross, he scored a goal – very nice, by the way.

“Barcelona were in a disastrous state. Robert was the player who tried to raise the level of the team, but there was a moment when they were out of the competition for titles and the team's morale dropped.

Lewandowski has certainly been in better form during the second half of the season, although he himself remains below par. A move away from Barcelona cannot be ruled out, no matter how unlikely it may seem at this stage.
