Taiwo Awoniyi: Nottingham Forest star returns to full training, in line to face Arsenal


Awoniyi, who has been sidelined with an injury since November, is poised to make a comeback for Nottingham Forest in their match against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Nottingham Forest key man Taiwo Awoniyi is in line for a return to action when the club welcomes Arsenal to City Ground for a crucial Premier League clash on Tuesday evening.

Awniyi began the season in flying form, registering 4 goals and 2 assists in his first 9 games, helping to steer Forest clear of the drop zone.

However, concerns about his fitness persisted as he consistently grappled with discomfort. Regrettably, the situation reached a critical point in November, leading to a necessary surgery. 

This injury not only sidelined him for the Africa Cup of Nations but also forced him to miss Nottingham Forest’s last twelve games.

Awoniyi back in training ahead of Arsenal clash

In preparation for Nottingham Forest’s upcoming match against Arsenal at the City Ground on Tuesday, Coach Espirito Santo has disclosed, as reported by Nottingham Post, that Awoniyi has returned to training.

Fans of the Tricky Trees will be hoping Awoniyi’s return can turn the tide after winning just 2 of their last 10 league games.
