Sevilla eyeing Rangers forward amid competition from Milan

Sevilla look set to try to reshape their squad again this summer, with sporting director Victor Orta looking to go younger on a limited budget. One of their targets could be Fabio Silva, who spent the season on loan at Rangers from Wolves.

Silva, 21, joined Wolves for €40m from Porto in 2020, but has struggled to make an impact during his four years in the Midlands, despite spending three of them on loan at Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and now Rangers. Wolves are unlikely to use him next season either, so they will try to move on.

According to Caught Offside, Milan and Sevilla are two of the teams interested in Silva, with Wolves demanding just over €23 million for the Portuguese. Silva has played 33 games this season, playing 1,766 minutes, but has scored just six goals in that time. Only 16 of those games were also starts.

If Sevilla choose him, it is difficult to see it being anything other than a loan deal again, for a player who has two years left on his contract. Orta are unlikely to spend even €5m on a player this summer unless they feel the player in question is a certainty, and Silva has proven far from that.
