Real Madrid will sign 18-goal striker this summer for just €1.5m

Real Madrid's attacking line will be significantly strengthened in the summer when Kylian Mbappe and Endrik Felipe make the long-awaited arrival, but despite the signing of two strikers, there are no plans to part ways with Joselu Mato.

Los Blancos raised eyebrows last summer when Joselu was the only striker to sign with them, despite Karim Benzema's departure to Al-Ittihad. However, despite not featuring regularly, the 34-year-old has had an excellent season, contributing 18 goals in all competitions – including a brace against Bayern Munich that sealed Real Madrid's place in another Champions League final.

According to Sky Germany correspondent Patrick Berger, Real Madrid will activate the option to buy Joselu in his loan agreement with Espanyol. How much will they have to pay? A paltry 1.5 million euros.

This money will also help Espanyol solve its financial problems, which could worsen if he is unable to return to La Liga. Either way, Real Madrid will continue to rely on Joselu for at least another 12 months.
