Real Madrid coach in the frame for Ligue 1 job this summer

Real Madrid have enjoyed a prolific season so far under Carlo Ancelotti, but too much credit has been given to his son David Ancelotti in the local press over the past three years. His works have attracted attention in France.

According to Fishages, Ancelotti is one of three names on Reims' Stade shortlist to replace Will Steele this summer, along with Le Havre manager Luca Elsner and Tottenham Hotspur assistant Joao Sacramento. Ancelotti Junior has long been valued by Reims and is largely responsible for the day-to-day tactical work at Valdebebas.

This is not the first time that David Ancelotti has caught the attention of foreign parties. He was offered the opportunity to coach Everton at one point, but he turned it down, amid other commitments with Basel and Saudi Arabia as well. It appears that he intends to stay at Real Madrid with his father until the end of their time at the Santiago Bernabéu, at which point he will jump into the big chair, appointing fitness coach Francesco Mauri as his assistant. It seems likely that this will remain the case this summer.
