Real Madrid bound star Kylian Mbappe accepts Usain Bolt’s 100-meter race challenge

Kylian Mbappé has agreed to take on the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, in the 100m.

The Frenchman recently helped Paris Saint-Germain capture the Ligue 1 title this season and announced his departure from the French capital.

Mbappe, who announced that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, faces the challenge of the fastest man in the world.

Mbappe and Bolt challenge

Mbappe is scheduled to face Bolt in the 100 meters race after accepting the challenge of the fastest runner in the world.

According to reports by Marca, Mbappe was asked about the challenge during a recent event for Nike and his Inspired by KM Foundation, and he said: “I don’t think I have much of a chance.”

BBC social media posts reported a few months ago that Mbappé “recorded an estimated speed of 10.90 seconds over 100 metres” during the match and “generated” interest in the event.

Everyone in the athletics community, from the IAAF to Michael Johnson, made jokes about that time.

This led to a funny exchange of communications between Bolt and the Frenchman which led to the challenge.

The Jamaican who issued the challenge laughed and said on the red carpet of the Laureus Awards that he was inspired by the Frenchman, “I know I was laughing when I saw that, girls run faster than that.” [10.9]”

“He has a special talent. Mbappe is very fast. Very fast with the ball,” Bolt said, praising the speed of the football players.

When asked if he would compare himself with the event's world record holder, Mbappe also heaped praise on the former runner.

“It's really fun to know that I inspire such a person. He inspired everyone else too. I think everyone stayed up late at night to watch Usain Bolt run. I can tell it's mutual and I started looking forward to it before he did it.”
