Real Betis eyeing up summer move for Real Madrid striker

Real Betis aims to sign a new striker in the summer, amid the expected departure of Borja Iglesias and Willian Jose. Manuel Pellegrini wants a different profile to current options Cedric Bakambu and Chimi Avila, and one of their options has now been revealed.

According to Marca, Betis has an interest in Juanmi Latassa. The 23-year-old Real Madrid player will return in the summer after a two-year loan spell at Getafe, where he scored seven goals in 57 appearances. Los Blancos are yet to decide what to do with him, but the likelihood is that leaving – either on loan or permanently – will be the option taken.

Latassa's scoring return has not been ideal at the Coliseum, although Real Betis won't be too worried about that. They believe he can move on after two years of experience in La Liga. For now, it remains to be seen how Real Madrid will approach negotiations, but given that Latassa's contract expires in 2025, they will certainly be somewhat open to any terms on offer.
