PTR Triumph WorldSSP Team to Wildcard at Donington BSB

Donington Park is the only circuit to appear on the BSB and WorldSBK calendars. PTR Triumph is set to benefit from that this weekend, with wildcard appearances for both WorldSSP riders in the British Supersport Championship races at Donington BSB this weekend.

This means that both Tom Booth Amos – who was full-time in BSSP last year with the Gearlink Kawasaki team – and Ondrej Vostatic will compete in the British Supersport Championship as substitute riders this weekend at Donington Park.

Boot-Amos, whose career dates back to British Championship racing, has plenty of experience at Donington, but for Vosatek this will be his first time at the Leicestershire track. For both riders, this will be an opportunity to get to know the Donington Park design aboard the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS ahead of the WorldSBK UK round which will be held at the same venue on July 12-14.

Ahead of his one-off return to British Supersport, Tom Booth-Amos told Britishsuperbike.com: “Back to BSB this week at Donington Park and I'm looking forward to getting out of the PTR Triumph and getting some important pre-race information. The WorldSSP race is in a few weeks.

Andrei Vostatic added: “I don't really know what to expect, but we'll try some new things on the bike. I've worked hard to improve my physical ability and I think I'm moving forward. I'm really excited for this weekend. I want to focus on the track and bike settings.”

PTR Triumph Team Principal Simon Buckmaster said: “We're really looking forward to our entry into the British Supersport Championship at Donington Park this weekend. It's a fantastic series and will be a great opportunity for us to do some proper race testing when we get back there for [World Championship] circular. Tom and Ondrej are really looking forward to it. I would like to thank Stuart Higgs for giving us the opportunity to come and participate in this series and we hope we will see a lot of fans there.
