Plans for Barcelona forward line under Hansi Flick take shape for next season

Barcelona are preparing for a busy summer as they try to strengthen the squad, knowing that they must make huge net profits in the window in order to do so. While Hansi Flick's arrival will quiet rumors about a potential Robert Lewandowski exit, few others have confirmed their whereabouts.

According to Cadena Cope, a good offer could be enough to tempt the Blaugrana to sell Ferran Torres, who has not met expectations after two and a half years, depending on what further exits happen. Saudi Arabia are supposed to be offering up to €100m for Rafinha, but the Brazilian, without an agent, remains steadfast in his desire to play for Barcelona.

In the case of Ansu Fati, Flick will give him a chance. The 21-year-old is coming off a disappointing loan spell at Brighton, and the German coach wants to see him in pre-season, in order to assess his mental state and whether he is ready to trust him. If he is not 'recoverable', Fati will be on his way out again, likely on loan to one of Real Betis, Valencia or Sevilla in Spain, although Barcelona are considering a sale as well.

One of the big questions for Barcelona and Flick is what type of setup he will use. It seems likely that Lewandowski will start as a classic number nine, and there will be two wide attackers, but whether he uses a midfielder behind Lewandowski and looks directly to link up with him, as was the case at Bayern, or opts for a deeper closer option. To the classic 4-3-3 Barcelona is linked to the rest to see.
