Managerial candidate has “95% chance” of replacing Xavi Hernandez at Barcelona

It is becoming increasingly likely that Xavi Hernandez will not be Barcelona coach after the end of this season. Joan Laporta is expected to sack the 44-year-old in the coming weeks, and the favorite to replace him has already been identified.

On the day Barcelona sporting director Deco reportedly met with Hansi Flick, Esport3 Onze has now claimed that the former Bayern Munich and Germany coach has a “95% chance” of taking over from Xavi.

Flick was vying for the position when Xavi announced last January that he would step down, although his chances faded when Xavi committed his future to Barcelona for another season. After just a few weeks, Flick's chance to take charge appears stronger than ever.

It has been a very chaotic period at Barcelona over the past few weeks, and Xavi has reportedly been kept in the dark throughout the process. He, and many others, will likely have more clarity next week.
