La Liga round-up: Real Sociedad back into top six, Las Palmas and Real Betis play out entertaining draw

Matchday 36 of the 2023-24 La Liga season concluded on Thursday, with three more matches to be played across Spain. Barcelona traveled to Almeria, while the other matches witnessed Real Sociedad hosting Valencia, and Las Palmas against Real Betis.

Real Sociedad 1-0 Valencia

Real Sociedad returned to the top six with a strong win over Valencia at the Real Arena. It was an early goal from Andre Silva that set Imanol Alguacil's side on the road, and it was enough to secure the three points, meaning they are in control of their own destiny in the race for Europa League qualification. The result also means that Valencia's hopes of playing in Europe next season are officially over.

Las Palmas 2-2 Real Betis

The early game saw a very entertaining draw between Las Palmas and Real Betis. The visitors took the lead twice thanks to Mika Marmol (OG) and Ayoze Perez, but goals from Alex Suarez and Alberto Molero ensured their share of the spoils.

With La Real's result, Betis now drops to seventh place, while a single point for Las Palmas would be enough to secure their place in La Liga for next season.
