Even the Abu Dhabi Auto Racing League

Michael Dunlop also extended his run of Isle of Man TT wins with a second-place finish on the final day of the 2024 event, winning the red-flagged Supertwin TT ahead of Peter Hickman and Mike Browne.

Dunlop was 17 seconds ahead when the race stopped, with the result announced at the end of the first lap.

The Northern Irishman, who claimed his 28th win earlier in the day in the second Supersport TT, was leading practically from the start until the red flags came out as he crossed the mountain for the final time at less than the lap speed record.

Hickman had been in behind him from the start of the race, but it was Race 1 podium finisher Dom Herbertson who lost out as the race came to a premature end, having pulled away from Brown in the first half of the final lap – but he was forced to. To settle in fourth place when the score was taken from the start-finish line at Glencrotchery Road.

The final result meant it represented a rare one-lap TT victory – but with the race already shortened from three laps to two thanks to significant delays during the week, Dunlop was able to take his fourth win of the week because the half-distance had already been reached.

Details of the on-track incident that caused the red flags have not been released by the TT organisers.

The final race of the weekend, the Senior TT, was postponed as a result of the stoppage and time taken to allow riders back into the pits, and will now retire at 1800 local time.
