Drivers lock in milk selections ahead of 2024 Indy 500

You've just won the Indianapolis 500, and you're celebrating with your team and family — or in the case of Josef Newgarden in 2023, jumping into the crowd.

You are then greeted with a laurel wreath and then offered a glass of iced milk in one of the most famous Indy 500 traditions.

The tradition of drinking milk in victory lane began as a marketing ploy by the Indiana Diary Association and the rest, as they say, is history.

Drivers can choose between whole, skim or 2% milk to choose from, although Juan Pablo Montoya has opted for chocolate milk in the past, and 1993 winner Emerson Fittipaldi also drank orange juice instead of milk – something some locals still do. They hold it against the Brazilian.

But the milk picks made by 33 drivers for the 2024 Indy 500 have been made — and there's a common theme.

The table below is in grid order.
