Bayern Munich handed injury boost ahead of Real Madrid clash

Bayern Munich have received some positive injury news ahead of their clash with Real Madrid next week.

Thomas Tuchel's team saw its defense of the German League title end at the hands of rival Bayer Leverkusen this season.

This means Tuchel's focus is now on the Champions League, with Real Madrid traveling to Bavaria for the first leg of the semi-final on April 30.

The former Chelsea boss has already confirmed his concerns over a host of injured players, with Jamal Musiala and Dayo Upamecano missing the weekend's 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, despite further injury concerns at full time after Frankfurt's win, with Matthijs de Ligt and Konrad Laimer both out, Tuchel provided a confident update on the duo.

“Matisse has pain in the inner ligament in his knee while Kone sprained his ankle. They were both in severe pain and couldn't continue. Now we wait to see what the tests say and hope we can solve the problem before Tuesday,” Diario Sport reported.

Tuchel's comments indicate his confidence that both players have a chance against Real Madrid, with Serge Gnabry expected to return in time but Leroy Sane a doubt.
