Barcelona tie up deal for 17-year-old talent amid Premier League and Borussia Dortmund interest

Barcelona have struck a deal for rising talent Hector Forte, who has impressed in his performances this season. Forte, who has played at right-back and left-back this season, has been in talks with the club for several months, but an agreement is now in place.

As reported by Matteo Moretto at Relevo, FC Barcelona have agreed a new five-year contract with Forte, which will be signed sometime in August, with his 18th birthday on the 2nd of the month. The announcement may be made within days.

Forte only had a release clause of €6m in his contract, and while he always wanted to stick with his boyhood club, that was enough motivation for the Blaugrana to seal the deal before the winter transfer window. Interest from Borussia Dortmund and the Premier League had already arrived at his door, but Barcelona had priority.

He is set to play a first-team role this season, as cover at right-back and left-back, likely replacing Marcos Alonso in the squad. He has already proven his ability in big games against Athletic Club and Atletico Madrid, both away from home, and looked out of sorts on both occasions.
