Barcelona likely to move for number nine if forward departs this summer

Barcelona will stick with Robert Lewandowski up front next season, barring a major shock, but the future of 19-year-old Vitor Roque remains up in the air. The Brazilian looks as if he will leave this summer, whether on loan or permanently.

The club appear to be pushing for a loan deal, but if an offer comes in that would earn them a good profit, the Blaugrana could consider it. Agent Andre Cory said a loan deal is not on the table, but he will sit down to discuss the matter with sporting director Deco in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, if Roque ends up leaving, and with Joao Felix's future also uncertain, Mateo Moreto told Football España that Barcelona will likely seek nine more players in the transfer window.

If Roque leaves, the only realistic alternative in the squad is Ferran Torres, who has shown patchy performances in the middle while struggling with his fitness this season. Youngster Marc Guyot could join the team and has shown promise, but he is still at an early stage in his nascent career. Guiu is yet to play a full game at senior level with either Barcelona or the first team, and it would be a massive show of faith to go into another season with Guiu solely as a natural replacement for what will be a 36-year-old. Old Lewandowski.
