Barcelona have 55 days to sign target before €60m release clause disappears

Barcelona are looking to sign a new left winger in the summer, and several names have been linked in recent weeks. Neco Williams is the main candidate, Real Betis' Ayoze Perez would be a more economically viable option, while Dani Olmo is also said to be on sporting director Deco's shortlist.

Olmo is highly regarded at Barcelona, where he was part of La Masia until 2015. His return could be organized during the next transfer window, although there will be a race against time to get things done – because Marca reported that the 26-man release clause for the year-old The €60 million is only temporary.

Any club interested in signing Olmo this summer has until July 15 to activate his release clause. If no one does, he will disappear and Leipzig can then set the asking price – which will be well above €60m.

Reaching a deal for Olmo would be highly unlikely anyway for Barcelona due to the asking price, as they simply cannot afford that amount – especially with a one-off payment. It is expected that other options will be considered instead.
