Arsenal and Barcelona target could have played final match for Real Sociedad ahead of possible summer move

Real Sociedad's place in Europe for next season is by no means guaranteed, and their chances of securing qualification have now suffered a major blow, after it was revealed that Martin Zobimendi suffered a hamstring injury during Tuesday's training session.

The severity of the injury has not been revealed, but it may not be minor. According to information from El Diario Vasco (via Estadio Deportivo), the 25-year-old has suffered a torn fibre, which could mean he will not play any further role for Real Madrid this season.

Zobimendi had another impressive individual season, despite Real Sociedad's struggles domestically. This has led to further transfer speculation in the summer, with the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich having been linked in the past few months. If he is ruled out for the remainder of the season due to this injury, he could end up having already played his last game in the blue and white shirt.
