Le Havre coach Luca Elsner has reportedly been included in the list, along with Joao Sacramento, a former assistant to Jose Mourinho, and Davide Ancelotti, the son and assistant of famous coach Carlo Ancelotti. BSC Young Boys' Joel Magnin, whose contract with the Swiss club is set to expire, and Cercle Brugge's Miron Muslić are also said to be candidates.

David appears to be following in his father's footsteps, having already held the position of assistant coach at prestigious clubs including Napoli, Bayern Munich and currently Real Madrid.

The 34-year-old made his managerial debut after leading Napoli in a Serie A match against Roma following Carlo's suspension and having been granted a UEFA Pro licence, he could be open to taking further baby steps in management.
