Amokachi and two foreigners to serve as Finidi George’s assistants in Super Eagles role


The new Super Eagles coach, Fenidi George, will have his former teammate Daniel Amokachi and two foreigners as his assistants.

Following the unveiling of Finidi George as coach of the Super Eagles, the NFF has announced that Daniel Amokachi will join the coaching staff as an assistant.

The Nigeria Football Federation has officially presented former assistant coach, Fenidi George, to the press as the new Super Eagles manager.


Amokachi bags auxiliary role

According to Brilla FM, Daniel Amokachi has been appointed as a member of the coaching staff of new coach Fenidi George.

According to the report, he will be the first assistant, a role he previously held under the late Stephen Keshi.

As previously reported by Pulse Sports, Fenidi wants foreign assistants in his staff, and former National Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has backed this desire, stating that it is his right.

The Federation has agreed to this request, as according to the aforementioned Brila FM, the National Football Federation is planning to integrate two foreign assistants into the technical staff, whose names will be confirmed before the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Republic of Benin.

In addition to these three assistants, Abdeen Baruah, the goalkeeping coach under former coach Jose Peseiro, will retain his position.

Meanwhile, Finidi George is relishing the challenge of coaching Nigeria. He understands the intense pressure that comes with this role, and says he has a tough skin and is not afraid of responsibility.
