Alex Rins Injured in MotoGP Dutch TT Crash

Alex Rins' MotoGP Dutch TT team continued to execute the half-turn, with the #42 car crashing in dramatic fashion on the first lap.

Rins made a good start but was boxed in on the outside at Turn 1, and when he stepped on the throttle he immediately lost control at the back, finding it again resulting in one of the biggest uphill sides of the year.

Rins suffered injuries to his right foot and wrist in the crash. Unfortunately for Rins, the foot injury was in the same leg as his 2023 injury, when he broke his fibula and tibia during the Italian sprint which also resulted in nerve damage.

The severity of Rins' injury is currently unclear, but the factory Yamaha rider flew to Madrid after the race on Sunday to undergo an assessment of his condition. A return to the German Grand Prix this weekend has not yet been ruled out.

After the race in Assen, Rins said: “I had a very bad crash at the start. I'm already on my way to Madrid, where I'll undergo further medical tests to understand the severity of the injuries to my right wrist and right wrist. I hope to have updates soon.”
